Assignment for October 4, 2011
In many schools, a person's grade-point average is calculated using linear combinations. Some schools give 4 points for each A, 3 points for each B, 2 points for each C, and 1 point for each D. Suppose a person gets 5 A's,3 B's and 1 C. a) Calculate the person's total number of points, then divide that answer by the total number of classes (9) to get the grade-point average. b) Calculate your own grade-point average for last year using this scheme, and post your answer on here. Enjoy the rest of your week! Miss Larsen
Edmund Brown - Oct 4, 2011 4:13 PM
a)3.4 b)3.7
Elise Bogut - Oct 4, 2011 5:49 PM
a) 5x4=20 3x3=9 20+9+2=31/9=3.44 5x5=25/5=5 (I'm not sure on B; I'm not sure my mom kept my grade report...)

Two points of extra credit to Edmund and Elise for following the assignment sheet. Next time, however, you will get points taken off it you don't do the problem on here... -Miss Larsen
